9.02 POSSESSION AND USE OF FIREARMS AND OTHER DANGEROUS
WEAPONS. (1) DEFINITIONS. For the purpose of this section, the following definitions
shall apply:
(a) Facsimile Firearm. (Cr. Ord. #2104 – 3/8/93; Rep. Ord. #2175 –
10/10/94 State Statute Adopted.)
(am) Firearm. Any weapon from which a shot may be fired by the force of
an explosive or propellant, including, but not limited to, air guns and BB guns.
(b) Other Dangerous Weapon. Includes bow and arrow crossbow, sling shot,
blow gun and other similar weapons.

(3) USE OF FIREARMS. (Rep. & Recr. Ord. #2232 – 12/18/95). (a) Regulated.
No person except an authorized police officer shall discharge any firearm within the City,
except as provided in par. (b) below.
(b) Exceptions.
1. Police firing range.
2. Uses granted under a conditional use permit pursuant to Chapter
17 of this Code.
(4) USE OF OTHER DANGEROUS WEAPONS. (a) Regulated. No person shall
shoot or discharge any other dangerous weapon anywhere in the City except as provided in
par. (b) below.
(b) Exceptions.
1. (Am. Ord. #2527 – 6/14/04) Areas designated as shooting ranges
by the Park and Recreation Commission or approved by any school authority.
2. Uses granted under a conditional use permit pursuant to Chapter
17 of this Code.
